Penelope Spheeris's first film was made while she attended UCLA film school. The film depicts, with simple, intimate camera setups and delicate editing, the privacy of a woman's bathtime. Bathing, a typical and mundane process, is here made private and ceremonial, as we are granted very privileged access to a woman's solitary moments of quiet self-attention.
